Perhaps this section should be entitled ‘About Me’ as, in truth, there is only me. FOR NOW!
My name is Chris Bills and I’ve been an airtightness tester of dwellings and an On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor since April 2007.
Accredited originally with BINDT (British Institute of Non-Destructive Testing) now with iATS (Independent Airtightness Testing Scheme) for Airtightness Testing and Elmhurst Energy for SAP (Standard Assessment Procedure) calculations, EPC‘s (Energy Performance Certificates) for newly constructed dwellings and also with Elmhurst Energy for Energy Performance Certificates for existing dwellings.
In the beginning, I worked as a consultant for Thermitec Ltd. Then in August 2008 It was handed over to me and I formed Thermitec (South) Ltd.
In July 2011 I joined MD Insurance Services Ltd to manage their Airtightness Testing service under the brands of Premier Guarantee and LABC Warranty across the entire United Kingdom, as part of their Developer Support Services, which included Airtightness Testing, SAP’s and The Code for Sustainable Homes.
In January 2014 MDIS withdrew all of their sustainability services. I was retained in a variety of other roles. Including, Technical Services Surveyor, Basement Insurance Guarantee Surveyor and Technical Support Surveyor. But I still maintained my accreditations and continued to provide my services, in my own time, to several local Clients.
Following an opportunity presented to me courtesy of being made redundant by MD Insurance Services Ltd, I have re-formed under the name Premi-AIR Testing and energy assessment services ltd to go back to the beginning, to re-vitalise, re-build, re-invigorate and grow a truly world class airtightness testing and energy assessment service.
